Are there sports facilities for us to use?

  • Cycling. You will all be supplied with a hire bike for the whole duration of your stay in Freiburg. Freiburg is a very cyclist friendly city with cycle paths on most roads. We can also supply you with cycling maps if you wish to explore the city's surroundings.
  • Table tennis. A table tennis table and a few paddles are available next to the computer lab in case need a short break from mental work.
  • Jogging. The hotel is located in a residential area at the slopes of the Black Forest, and a number of paths criss-cross the woods.
  • Football. There are a few public football grounds scattered over Freiburg, and one can find a vacant one most of the time.
  • Swimming. An open air pool can be found 5 km from the hotel, and opening hours allow for a quick swim before the course starts in the morning.

What's the weather like in Freiburg during August?

  • Good question! It is the warmest time of the year, with temperatures rising up to 35 °C. During rainy days with thunderstorms, the temperatures can drop to 15 °C, though. Our building has no air-conditioning, except in the computer lab, so bringing a range of clothes is a good idea.
